This is Damian Medical Centre’s response to the needs of patients struggling with psychological problems - it is estimated that up to 8 million adult Poles are affected by them. The clinic offers a wide range of services for adults, children and teens - consultations with psychiatrists and psychologists, individual, couples and group psychotherapy, diagnostics and development workshops.
Polish psychiatry has been experiencing a deep crisis in recent years. There are currently about 416 specialists working in Poland, with a predicted demand of almost 1,200. Lack of qualified staff is the main reason for closing psychiatric wards, and this prevents many Poles from getting the help they need. The above figures are all the more worrying since the number of adults, children and teens who are unable to cope with reality is systematically growing (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder). That is why, in response to the growing needs of Poles, Damian Medical Centre has opened a new dedicated clinic at ul. Nowolipie 18, which will provide timely access to comprehensive psychological, psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care in a friendly atmosphere.
Seeking help for mental health problems is not a marginal problem in Poland and we should not be afraid to talk about it. Caring for mental health is one of the key aspects of social development, which is why it needs special attention, says Sylwia Rozbicka, Head of Psychology and Psychiatry.
Children and teens, as well as adults, apart from receiving individual help, will also be able to take part in a wide range of group activities, including workshops, trainings and group psychotherapy. Patients will be treated by specialists from Damian Medical Centre, including newly hired experts. For greater patient comfort, the clinic offers spacious treatment rooms designed for relaxation.
Specialist care for adults, children and teens
The new Damian Medical Centre clinic offers a full range of consultations with psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, neuropsychologists and sexologists. For adults, we offer consultations, diagnostics and therapy in the following areas: professional burnout, anxiety disorders, addictions, depression, geriatric diseases, sleep problems and bipolar disorder.
For children and teens, we offer professional help in the treatment of teen depression, developmental, anxiety and adaptive disorders, school, behavioural and puberty problems, including controlling emotions or coping with shyness.
The new facility is a response to the contemporary needs of Poles, and above all our patients, who are increasingly seeking help for mental health issues.
