Dear Patient! If a doctor reports an unplanned absence, your appointment may be cancelled. In such cases, we take steps to inform patients as soon as possible. You may also contact the Medicover Helpline for assistance in arranging a new appointment date.
Despite our best efforts to organise appointments in line with our patients’ expectations, we are unable to predict unplanned absences resulting from unforeseen circumstances. These events are beyond the control of Medicover and its employees. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we are ready to support you in booking a new appointment.
Dear Patient! If you arrive more than five minutes late for your appointment, the decision as to whether you will be seen rests with the doctor. If, in the doctor’s opinion, the remaining time is insufficient to conduct the consultation or examination, you will be asked to arrange another appointment at a different time. If your health condition requires urgent medical assistance, please ask the staff at the Medicover Centre for help and request a consultation with the duty doctor or duty nurse.
Dear Patient! If you require medical assistance, please contact a general practitioner (internist) first. The doctor will take your medical history, recommend further management and issue any necessary referrals. Patients with confirmed medical indications are provided with care according to the medical need determined by the doctor. Please remember that, in addition to an in-person visit at a Medicover Centre, you can also use remote services such as Telephone Medical Advice at +48 500 900 510, chat consultations with a doctor on Medicover OnLine, ordering a repeat prescription for long-term medication without a visit, and the possibility to contact a doctor after your visit. In the case of infection, please book a Medicover Express visit – cold and flu.
Availability of appointments is constantly changing, as patients cancel existing bookings and make new ones. Please remember that you can use Medicover OnLine to check currently available dates.
Dear Patient! You may use the car park at Medicover Centres as part of your visit. If parking is available at a particular facility, this information is provided on the Medicover website under the ‘Facilities’ tab. Please note that the number of parking spaces for Medicover patients is limited. We recommend allowing sufficient time for travel and for finding an available space before your appointment.
Dear Patient! According to the Medicover Online regulations, if 4 missed appointments (not cancelled in advance) are recorded in the Patient's file within the last 12 months, a block is placed on the Medicover Online account. The block is applied automatically for a period of 30 days. After 30 days, the account will be automatically unblocked. If 4 missed appointments were not recorded on your account, or you have doubts as to whether the message about a missed appointment is justified, please contact the Medicover Hotline or send a report via the contact form.
Dear Patient! If you take medication on a permanent basis and your health status has not changed, you can request a prescription without a visit. The option to submit a prescription request expires 18 months after the visit. This is due to the necessity of verifying the Patient's health status and confirming that the treatment should be maintained in the same form or dose. The doctor must ensure at least once every 1.5 years that the therapy is conducted properly, achieves its therapeutic goals, and does not cause adverse effects.
If, in the doctor's assessment, the Patient should verify their health status before the 18 months have passed, or if doubts arise regarding the justification for issuing the prescription, the doctor will reject the order. In such a case, we recommend scheduling a telephone medical consultation.
Dear Patient! Medicover doctors issue referrals based on medical indications. The doctor determines medical indications based on reported ailments, medical history, and available medical records. The doctor individually decides on the diagnostic-therapeutic process resulting precisely from the Patient's medical indications and/or applicable preventive care guidelines.
The doctor may refuse to issue a referral or will issue a referral for a paid service if they do not find justification for performing the medical service.
Dear Patient! Medicover doctors issue sick leaves (certificates of incapacity for work) if the Patient is unable to work due to their health status. If, during a remote consultation, the doctor is unable to assess the Patient's capacity for work, they will invite the Patient for an in-person visit to a Medicover Centre. A retroactive sick leave may be issued during an in-person consultation if the doctor confirms that the Patient was unable to work in the days preceding the consultation. In the case of a remote consultation, the doctor may issue a retroactive sick leave only in cases specified in the regulations: continuation of an e-sick leave issued by Medicover doctor(s), the Patient underwent consultations or tests at Medicover which did not originally result in the issuance of an e-sick leave, or the Patient presents documentation certifying their health status on the days for which they wish to obtain an e-sick leave (e.g., a discharge summary from the Emergency Department/SOR). A certificate of incapacity for work is generally issued starting from the day the examination was performed or from the day directly following the examination.
Dear Patient! An additional appointment is a visit made available to patients that is not scheduled with a specific doctor and is organised on site at the centre after the patient reports to the reception desk. The waiting time for such an appointment may be up to 60 minutes, and there is a risk that the visit may not take place. When booking an appointment via Medicover OnLine, the reservation is confirmed only after the patient accepts the terms and conditions applicable to this type of appointment.
Dear Patient! When ordering a repeat prescription for long-term medication via Medicover OnLine, the displayed issue date is approximate. Prescriptions are issued by doctors on their first working day. However, this timeframe may be extended in the event of an unplanned absence. If you need to obtain a prescription sooner, we recommend contacting a doctor via Chat Consultation on Medicover OnLine or through Telephone Medical Advice. The doctor will decide whether to issue a prescription after reviewing your medical history.
Dear Patient! The waiting time for a consultation varies and depends on the number of waiting Patients and the duration of preceding conversations. The stated waiting time is approximate and may change. Do not close the chat. Exiting the chat and logging in again will result in losing your place in the queue.
