CRISIS MANAGEMENT UNIT
We have set up an anti-crisis unit whose tasks include ongoing, careful monitoring of the situation, checking the recommendations of government institutions and coordinating all our actions.
HEALTHCARE SERVICES
Our consistent development in the field of e-Health makes it possible today to allow our patients to get medical advice without leaving home – using the Medicover OnLine app or a telephone call. Our doctor will provide you with advice, issue an e-Presc.ription, electronic sick leave or recommend a personal visit to a medical centre if your health condition requires it. This allows our patients to stay at home and feel safe – as recommended.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector and the Ministry of Health, we change non-urgent and life-saving visits to telephone advice available every day until midnight. For urgent visits, our patients are invited to our healthcare centres.
Due to the reorganisation of medical services, staff availability and government guidelines, some Medicover Centres work differently than usual. Working hours and ranges of services are changing. More detailed information about these changes is regularly published on our website: https://www.medicover.pl/uslugi-medicover/aktualnosci/. It may also happen that one of the centres is temporarily closed. In such a situation, patients still have the opportunity to have a consultation at some other Medicover Centre or at a partner facility. We also guarantee access to Telephone Medical Advice with our doctors and 24-hour Medicover medical assistance hotline in emergencies and life-threatening situations.
SICK LEAVES OVER THE TELEPHONE
We have made it possible for patients to get electronic sick leaves during a telephone consultation with a doctor. Based on the medical history and analysis of medical records, the doctor makes a decision to issue an electronic sick leave. If the patient does not show any symptoms, it is not justified to issue a sick leave.
OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE EXAMINATIONS
Respecting the recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector and the Ministry of Health about non-urgent visits, we have introduced the implementation of occupational medicine examinations only for persons whose occupational certificate validity expires on 30 March 2020 as well as for persons referred to the preliminary and control examinations. Information about these changes is published regularly at https://www.medicover.pl/uslugi-medicover/realizacja-badan-medycyny-pracy-w-okresie-sytuacji-epidemicznej-zwiazanej-z-koronawirusem-sars-cov-2,6755,n,256.
We are waiting for the government's decision concerning the rules of providing occupational medicine examinations in the period of an epidemic situation.
At a press conference on 16 March 2020, Deputy Minister Janusz Cieszynski informed that the problems with occupational medicine will be solved in a rescue package for companies which the government will deal with on 17 March 2020.
PATIENT SAFETY PROCEDURES
We have introduced a number of internal procedures, including special disinfection procedures at Medicover healthcare centres and offices and special rules of customer service. We have applied all the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate to ensure the safety of our patients and employees.
We are fully prepared to serve patients with suspected coronavirus infection. We are able to effectively isolate a patient and ensure safe transportation to an infectious diseases hospital. The members of our staff have undergone professional training in this area and are prepared for such situations.
PATIENT EDUCATION
The development of the epidemiological situation depends on us all. That is why we conduct an education and information campaign about the current situation. We recommend that you follow the rules of hygiene and, if possible, stay at home.
All the information is made available at our healthcare centres and on our social media profiles. We have also launched a dedicated website www.medicover.pl/koronawirus at which we answer all key questions from our clients.
Please watch the video with Professor Bożena Walewska-Zielecka MD PhD Hab, Medicover Medical Director at Medicover.
The safety of our patients and employees is our top priority. We monitor the situation closely and, as it develops, we will base our further actions on recommendations from authorities and other institutions.
