Prostate biopsy under MRI guidance allows for a more precise "navigation" during its execution. This method allows the urologist to perform a precise biopsy of suspicious sites. Based on the MRI image and the detailed description, the specialist may determine the further course of diagnostic and therapeutic action.

During the procedure, 3 to 18 samples are collected (depending on how many biopsies have been performed thus far) and how many cancer sites are visible during the prostate MRI. The procedure takes 30-60 minutes. Preparation for the procedure includes antibiotic therapy started earlier, and local or intravenous anaesthesia. The test costs PLN 1,400 without anaesthesia; PLN 1,900 with anaesthesia + PLN 190 for urology visit.
