In the last five years, prostate cancer diagnostics have undergone a real revolution, and this is due to the multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI). During the MRI scanning of the prostate, the doctor may also locate areas of suspected cancer sites, and determine whether any cancel lesions have spread to other areas, such as lymph nodes.

The European Association of Urology recommends that each prostate re-biopsy is performed on the basis of the MRI scan, and the anomalies detected by the test.

Who should undergo testing?

The multiparametric MRI test of the prostate is recommended for patients who qualify for prostate biopsy.
The test takes 30 minutes and is completely painless. During the test, the patient receives an intravenous contrast.
The test costs PLN 990 + PLN 190 for urology visit.
