Medicover
The prizes were awarded for two initiatives: the Nationwide Programme for Diabetes and Lifestyle Diseases Prevention - PoZdro! and the first Polish edition of the Queen Silvia Nursing Award. The third award was made in recognition of Medicover Foundation’s full range of activities in the sphere of health promotion and employee volunteering. This is the second time the Foundation has received this international award.
The PoZdro! Programme got the third highest number of votes of all 240 submissions from all over the world across all categories.
In this year’s edition of “The International CSR Excellence Awards”, Medicover Foundation won three prizes. It secured two prizes in the “Initiatives” category:
- a Gold award for its largest project, the Nationwide Programme for Diabetes and Lifestyle Diseases Prevention - PoZdro!, which has thus far tested over 20,000 junior high school students with some 3000 going on to participate in a specialist care programme;
- a Bronze award for the first Polish edition of the Queen Silvia Nursing Award – a competition to raise the profile of nursing as a career and specifically to encourage development and creativity among student nurses who plan to specialise in dementia care and care of the elderly.
- The Jury also recognised Medicover Foundation with a Silver Award in the “Philanthropy” category for the full range of its volunteering, sporting, health promotion and work-life balance initiatives.
In 2016 Medicover Foundation ran 44 projects, engaging more than 600 volunteers. Their activities benefitted more than 44,000 people. The number of initiatives and people engaged in delivering them grows from year to year.
All three statues have the symbolic shape of a red heart. They are handed over annually to responsible, caring companies that “have a heart”. On behalf of the Medicover Foundation, the award was received by Marcin Radziwiłł, President of the Foundation, during a glittering ceremony on June 9, 2017, in The Houses of Parliament, Palace of Westminster, London.
“The International CSR Excellence Awards” is an international competition for socially responsible companies and institutions. Launched in 2013 it attracts entrants from around the globe. Previous winners have included companies such as: Megaworld Foundation, Synergy Vision or SAP.
