The laureates of the CSR Excellence Awards, already in its 6th edition, were announced during the grand Award Ceremony held at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London on 16 July 2018. The Medicover Foundation and its PoZdro! Programme won the “Communication” category in which it was the best among over 100 nominated organisations competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in a total of 24 categories.
The International CSR Excellence Awards is an annual competition organized by the UK-based Green Organisation. It distinguishes companies and institutions from all over the world that are remarkable for their socially responsible and charitable projects. The statuettes received by laureates are in the symbolic shape of a crystal heart, a representation of the prism of the nominated initiatives. This year the Medicover Foundation has received a Gold Heart for its PoZdro! programme for students and their families implemented in Poland since 2014. This holistic, disease prevention-focused and educational initiative is aimed at preventing type 2 diabetes, overweight and obesity in Polish children. The project’s range of different activities has so far covered over 60,000 Polish schoolchildren, of whom 24,000 have undergone comprehensive health check-ups to establish their level of risk of type 2 diabetes. Over 3,000 schoolchildren and their families have been referred to our 2-year-long Integrated Individual Health Care programme because of the presence of risk factors. The programme is free of charge for the risk group and offers, among other services, consultations with experts, participation in educational workshops and attractive sports classes.
The PoZdro! Programme is aimed at improving the state of health, wellbeing and fitness of children so that they can exit the diabetes risk group, improve health awareness in their families and, more broadly, in the society at large. Every year, the PoZdro! team runs nationwide awareness-raising and educational campaigns to promote healthy lifestyles. To this end we use opportunities like the Annual Diabetes Day on 14 November as well as our collaboration with (among other stakeholders) young YouTube stars who are good ambassadors of our projects as they can easily appeal to the younger audience.

In recent years, the Medicover Foundation won the International CSR Excellence Awards competition as many as four times.
In 2017, we won three statuettes (Gold, Silver and Bronze) for the scale, format and the outcomes of the PoZdro! Programme, for our charity projects, campaigns and the organisation of our Employee Volunteering Programmes, and for organising the 1st Edition of Queen Silvia Nursing Awards in Poland.
In 2016, the Foundation won the Gold statuette for all of its initiatives aimed at improving the health of the society – including our awareness-raising projects, educational initiatives, disease prevention and charitable projects implemented both in Poland and internationally.
