Social skills traning

03.09.2019
Social skills training is addressed to children and young people with problems in relations with their peers and adaptation problems at kindergartens or schools.

WHAT IS SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING?

These meetings facilitate the development of appropriate communication patterns and social skills. We put a lot of emphasis on developing the ability to distinguish, identify and deal with emotions by learning how to relieve emotional tension in a socially acceptable way. Training work also focuses on understanding non-verbal messages and ways of reacting to them.

The main aim of the training is to teach cooperation with peers and adults, cooperation in a group, respect for social rules and norms, dealing with failures and defeat in competitions as well as the ability to reach a compromise.

WHO IS SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING FOR?

Social Skills Trainings (SST) has been prepared for all children aged 4-15. Training run by a psychologist in small four-person groups enable dynamic and customised work with each child.

OBJECTIVES OF TRAINING:

▪ developing the ability to communicate, express oneself, set boundaries, convey empathy and understand others,

▪ helping to read and name emotions,

▪ learning to function and cooperate with others, to acquire social skills, such as: listening or helping each other.

All children who would like to learn how to get on with their peers and cope with different social situations through interesting activities are welcome.

SST – WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW?

In order to qualify for the Social Skills Training, a patient should first apply for a psychological consultation with a specialist who will run the SST.

After consulting a psychologist, the reception desk or Call Centre staff register the patient on the list of people waiting for the training.

Until a training group is formed, the patient may attend individual sessions with a psychologist.

When the group is formed (maximum: 4 persons; minimum: 2 persons), the reception desk contacts the patient in order to arrange a series of meetings.

The meetings are held in blocks of 10; if necessary, the cycle of meetings can be repeated.

The participants of the raining are placed in groups depending on age and area of work on the basis of psychological consultation conducted by the specialist who runs the training.
