New solution to carry out occupational medicine examinations easier

26.03.2020
Dear Client,
despite the exceptionally difficult situation related to the epidemic in Poland, we spare no effort to make it easier for you to carry out preventive occupational medicine examinations on an ongoing basis.

As we care for your convenience and aim to increase the quality of our services, we are introducing the possibility of sending scanned occupational medicine referrals until 30 April 2020. Consequently, we will try to arrange examinations at facilities that accept employees with scanned referrals. We will also help you to coordinate the examinations at partner institutions.

If your employee who has been referred for the examination does not have a scanned referral, such a document may be emailed to skany-mp@medicover.pl. We will make sure that this document is sent to the right partner facility.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that until 10 April 2020 we will carry out preventive occupational medicine examinations according to the following rules.

  1. The preventive occupational medicine examinations will be provided for:
  • persons with the expiry date of their certificates before 10 April 2020;
  • persons referred for preliminary examinations;
  • persons referred for control examinations.

For the sake of the health and safety of our patients as well as for the protection of our staff, we will perform these examinations only for those who pass the medical interview before entering the premises of a Medicover centre.

  1. For your convenience as well as for the smooth delivery of the services, we accept scanned referrals for preventive occupational medicine examinations. Please email the scanned referrals to the following address: skany-mp@medicover.pl. Please note that this email address cannot be used to make appointments. If you would like to arrange an appointment, please call the Occupational Medicine Hotline +48 500 900 700.
  2. We would like to use this opportunity to remind you that in order to make an appointment for the examination you need to call the Occupational Medicine Hotline +48 500 900 700 – Monday through Friday 08:00-20:00. The clients who use their dedicated hotline numbers can use them to arrange their preventive occupational medicine examinations, too. The helpline consultant will collect all the key information needed to arrange the examination (employee data and harmful factors specified in the referral). The helpline consultant will also verify which of the facilities are currently providing occupational medicine services and will call you back with a proposed appointment date.
  3. At some of our partner facilities, due to the shortage of medical personnel and/or top-down decisions of local provincial occupational medicine centres it may be impossible to perform occupational medicine examinations at some specific dates. Please call the facility each time before coming for your appointment and confirm the availability of the service. The contact details can be found on our website: medicover.pl/placowki.
  4. If it is not possible to carry out an occupational medicine examination at a partner facility (regardless of the cause), and at the same time it is necessary to perform this examination due to the reasons specified in point (1), please contact the Occupational Medicine Hotline
    +48 500 900 700. We will help you to arrange an examination at another facility or another town.
  5. If, despite all efforts on our part, we fail to find a satisfactory solution as to the location and date of your occupational medicine examination, we will reimburse the costs of examinations carried out outside Medicover network.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that we are expecting a decision of the government shortly. It will specify the rules of providing occupational medicine examinations and tests in an epidemic situation. At the press conference on 16 March 2020, Deputy Minister Janusz Cieszyński informed that the problems with occupational medicine will be solved in a rescue package for businesses which will be dealt with by the government.

As soon as the government issues appropriate recommendations, we will adjust our occupational medicine procedures. We will also keep you informed about further developments.

IMPORTANT NOTE: At the moment, we would appreciate it if you could refer your employees to occupational medicine prevention examinations only in situations that are absolutely necessary.

We would appreciate it if these examinations are not attended either by persons who have returned from abroad in the last 14 days or have been staying in the region where the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is active, or individuals who are under quarantine, or any persons who are staying in Poland but have had contact with infected individuals or exhibit symptoms of respiratory tract infections (in particular higher body temperature, cough, rhinitis, dyspnoea, excessive sweating, chills, muscle pains, breathing difficulties, and general weakness).

We recommend that people at risk of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection should postpone their visits to later dates – and follow the guidelines as well as stay at home.
