Prior to this, when ordering a presc.ription, patients had to choose a pick up location where they could collect a paper presc.ription from the Medicover Centre reception desk. The e-Presc.ription solution makes it easier – patients can order presc.riptions without the need to come in to the centre to collect the presc.ription, all you need is access to a computer or telephone.
Over 68,000 e-Presc.riptions issued at Medicover
For many years now Medicover has been implementing digital solutions in patient care:
- electronic medical records, thanks to which the doctor has full knowledge of the patient's health, access to his test results and opinions of other specialists
- e-visit, thanks to which the patient can receive timely medical advice using such tools as a chat or a phone conversation with a doctor
In December 2018, we integrated our systems with the P1 platform of the Centre of Health Information Systems and began issuing the first e-Presc.riptions. Thanks to this, today we can boast of over 68,000 electronic presc.riptions issued by Medicover doctors to date.
At Medicover we issue e-Presc.riptions:
- for all medications - ready and prepared on-site at the pharmacy,
- individually or as repeat presc.riptions,
- for every patient with a PESEL number or passport**
- during on-site visits or telemedicine consultations.
How to order e-Presc.riptions
E-Presc.ription can be ordered through the Medicover OnLine Patient Portal or by contacting the Medicover Customer Care Centre by phone at 500 900 500. The e-Presc.ription can be downloaded on the Medicover OnLine Patient Portal, or, if ordered via telephone, a 4-digit code* will be sent by text message to collect the medication at a pharmacy.

We would like to remind you that the password to the Medicover OnLine Patient Portal can be collected at a Medicover Centre reception desk.
Huge time-saver and convenience
When using e-Presc.ription you don’t need to have a paper version of the presc.ription. Just give the pharmacist your PESEL number and the 4-digit access code provided on the e-Presc.ription or received by text message.
Another convenience is that you can fill an electronic presc.ription at several different pharmacies (purchasing each drug at a different pharmacy), without the need to make copies.
Important:
To access the history of all e-Presc.riptions issued by both Medicover doctors and physicians from other medical facilities, you need to set up a Trusted Profile to log on to the Online Patient Account (OPA).It is a simple and legible online application where everyone, not just Medicover patients, can find their medical information, including the history of all issued e-Presc.riptions, regardless of the place of their issue, on the dosage of prescribed medicines, as well as drug leaflets.
*the code is assigned to a maximum of 5 medications. If the presc.ription has been issued for more than 5 medications, two codes will be issued on the e-Presc.ription
** If the patient uses a passport and does not have a PESEL number, the P1 platform does not generate a code for such e-Presc.riptions. In this situation, the patient will have to pick up an e-Presc.ription printout at a Medicover Centre reception desk.
