Nose corrections

It would be a cliché to say that each of us struggles with some cosmetic problems or defects we don't necessarily have any control over. While excess weight can be eliminated with an appropriate exercise programme and a balanced diet, the contour of our face isn't something we have much influence over. Obviously, most women use make-up to cover up various imperfections, but not all of these are so easy to conceal. So if you're one of the many people who are not particularly satisfied with the shape of their nose and would like to do something about it, find out what we can do for you here at Medicover Hospital in terms of nose correction.

Rhinoplasty is a type of nose surgery performed under general anaesthesia in order to correct the cartilaginous and/or the osseous parts of the nose. The predetermined shape of the nose is either achieved by surgically removing the structures responsible for deformation of the external shape of the nose or by transplanting the bone and cartilage. Depending on the patient's needs, the incisions are either made inside the nose only or an incision is added in the mid-portion of the nasal columella or at the base of the nasal alae.

The procedure is completed by suturing together the incisions in the skin and nasal mucosa, followed by fixing the nose with a special splint. Soluble sutures are used. The final outcome of the surgery becomes evident after several months.
