Haematologist are specialists who treat diseases of the blood and the hematopoietic system. They can order any tests and examinations useful in the diagnostics of the following diseases and a number of other conditions:

  • anaemia
  • polycythaemia
  • leukaemia
  • lymphomas
  • thrombocythaemia
  • coagulopathies

They may also order such diagnostic tests as:

  • a full suite of blood tests
  • imaging tests (Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI))
  • molecular tests (BCR/ABL, JAK2 V617F mutation)
  • karyotype examination
  • bone marrow biopsy
  • trepanobiopsy
  • lymph node biopsy
