Elimination of snoring using Pillaris technique

What is the procedure?

The Pillars technique consists in introducing to the soft palate three thin polyester implants that stiffen the soft palate, reducing tissue vibrations, thus reducing the snoring effect.

Type of anaesthesia

Local anaesthesia.

How to prepare for the procedure

Usually no additional tests are required. The prerequisite for the procedure is generally good health and remaining on an empty stomach for 4 hours before the procedure.

What to take to the hospital

Please bring only the necessary items with you. In each hospital room there is a wardrobe and a cabinet for the patient's personal belongings (in double rooms there are separate sets of cupboards for both patients). Each patient has one lockable drawer, which he receives upon admission to the hospital. Necessary documents and items on the day of surgery: medical records, test results, chronically taken medicines, toiletries, towel, socks, pajama and slippers, and change of clothes. Please do not bring jewelry, watches and other valuable items with you. In the case of hospitalization of children, you may bring the child’s favourite toy, and for the parent: loose clothing and comfortable shoes or slippers.

Convalescence and recommendations

After the procedure a healthy lifestyle and a light diet for 7 days is recommended.
