In our laboratory we perform hemodynamic tests (coronary angiography) and procedures for coronary vessels (angioplasty), both planned and in an emergency.

This is an invasive diagnostic examination of coronary arteries consisting in inserting a catheter into the coronary artery and administering a contrast solution with a simultaneous x-ray of the heart. The test allows to accurately assess the condition of coronary arteries and determine the location and degree of their narrowing. Visibility of changes in vessels during coronarography allows for proper planning of further treatment of coronary artery disease using invasive methods: angioplasty or coronary artery bypass surgery (so-called bypass). The examination usually lasts 30-45 minutes. It is usually performed under local anaesthesia in the area of the punctured artery (radial or less commonly femoral), through which the catheter is inserted.
